Grant Success Stories
Fred Wooley
Fred Wooley has been an Interpretive Naturalist at Pokagon State Park for over 25 years.  He is almost always the first face you see at the Nature Center, and has touched the lives of many individuals by teaching them about nature and its relationship to our world.  Fred can be found leading nature hikes in all seasons (yes, even in the snow), sighting and counting the bird populations, assisting with group tours, visiting children's classroom, and much, much more.  As a grant-seeker, Fred has had successful proposals funded to help purchase a motorized all-terrain wheelchair, help with the production of
commemorative posters for the
Park's 75th anniversary, and bring
storytelling artists to the park for
Halloween programs.
