FIST Youth POD goes Trick or Treating for Project Help

On Tuesday, October 28th, members of the FIST youth pod of the Community Foundation went trick or treating around Steuben County.  While candy would seem the most obvious thing they might be hoping for, these students were looking for canned goods and other non-perishable items to donate to Project Help's food pantry.

The students were able to collect 5 shopping carts brimming with food items.

Thank you FIST members!

FIST Supports Angola Police Department K-9 Unit

At a recent FIST meeting, the newest member of the Angola Police Department's K-9 unit and his partner paid a visit.  Officer Case Gilbert and his dog Yogi, have been working together as a team since July of this yeCanine Unitar.

Yogi is trained to assist the Police Dept. in areas of drug detection, finding lost children and adults, and apprehending fleeing suspects.

The purchase of the dog, all of the necessary equipment and the specially equipped patrol car was funded in full by the community with
over $50,000  raised. The FIST Youth POD donated $600.00 to provide food for Yogi for one year.
