Donor Highlight: Lynn Wachtmann
For Lynn Wachtmann, giving is personal. It is rooted in gratitude, shaped by values, and inspired by a genuine desire to improve the lives of others.
A lifelong public servant and business leader, Lynn has dedicated his career to strengthening communities and supporting individuals. In December 2024, he continued that commitment by establishing a donor-advised fund at the Steuben County Community Foundation. Although the fund is non-permanent, its potential to create a meaningful impact is lasting.

Through SCCF, Lynn supports causes close to his heart, including Cameron Memorial Community Hospital, where he donates his time and expertise. He has also directed grants to Our Savior Lutheran School in Pagosa Springs, Colorado, the Women’s Resource Center in Auburn, Indiana, and Henry County 4-H in Napoleon, Ohio. These organizations may differ in location and mission, but each reflects Lynn’s desire to support work that transforms lives.
SCCF provides the tools, flexibility, and guidance to help donors like Lynn give with confidence, whether supporting efforts in Steuben County or across the country. He especially values the opportunity to match gifts, seeing how it can encourage others to join him in giving.
While Lynn prefers to give without recognition, his generosity speaks for itself. “I’ve just been so blessed in life,” he shared. “I want to help others. I want to change people’s lives for the better.”
With every thoughtful gift, he is doing precisely that.
