SCCF Stronger Together: Regional Workshop Series
Angola, IN— The Steuben County Community Foundation has officially launched a new regional partnership with the community foundations of DeKalb, LaGrange, and Noble counties to provide high-impact professional development for local nonprofit leaders. This four-part series aims to strengthen organizational capacity across our shared borders through expert-led training and collaborative learning. Building and Evaluating Programs was offered on February 17, and consisted of nonprofit staff and board members who gathered at the Early Ford V8 Museum for the series opener. The session was presented by Erin Hedges and Lindsey VanDyck from Hedges, an Indianapolis-based consulting firm specializing in nonprofit impact.
The workshop provided participants with practical frameworks to ensure their missions translate into measurable success. Key takeaways included:
Logic Modeling: Learning to use the logic modeling process to design programs with clear inputs, activities, and outcomes.
Impact Measurement: Understanding how to best collect and utilize evaluation data to improve service delivery.
Strategic Growth: Moving from day-to-day management toward intentional program design that is positioned for long-term sustainability.
“Strengthening our nonprofits starts with strengthening our leaders. This workshop taught me that the right evaluation tools turn community vision into measurable reality. Working alongside our regional peers has been an inspiring reminder that we are truly stronger together as we serve the needs that matter most.”
By the end of the session, attendees left with "simple things they and their teams can do to free up resources immediately," as well as longer-term action plans to enhance their community impact.
This is only the beginning of our regional collaboration. Click here for details about the remaining three workshops focused on marketing, fundraising, and board development as we continue to invest in the leaders who make our region thrive.
